Project Life Mini Album: Honeymoon
It's no secret that I've been bitten by the Project Life bug. In fact, I'm thinking I may need to change the title of this blog to "Girls Gone Paper" soon (4 digital weekly layouts ready for blogging later this week). As part of the Project Life Creative Team, I was very lucky to receive a mini album to showcase just how awesome these smaller nuggets of the Project Life family can be for scrapbooking the projects/events/etc. of our lives that need more space to tell the story than a single layout/spread, but less than a full album.
A few years ago, I printed out several dozen photos from our 2007 honeymoon to Riviera Maya and Walt Disney World to take with me to a Creating Keepsakes Convention. While it was a fun learning experience, as a digi-girl, I became overwhelmed with product choices and ideas and ultimately, those photos remained in an envelope in my office for years. Last night, it finally hit me, these photos were perfect for my Rain Mini Album. Armed with my Seafoam Core Kit and "soon-to-be in stores" 03 American Crafts Project Life Journaling Pens in Brown and Black (yay for HSN!), I camped out in front of the TV watching DVR recordings of Modern Family and set to work. Two hours later, using just the very basics of the Project Life system (plus one Studio Calico wood veneer airplane + AC Foam Thickers), a mini-album of a few favorite photos from our honeymoon was complete, journaling and all.

ReplyDeleteLove your honeymoon album. I noticed you used bordered photos. I have been agonizing about this issue for project life. It doesn't seem like most people use bordered pics with this system. But I already have so many pics printed out with borders. I like consistency, but what are your thoughts on combining bordered and non bordered photos in the same album?

DeleteSo happy you enjoyed the album! Thanks for your comment. I too had these photos printed out awhile ago, so I didn't want to reprint them again. I actually like the look of both borders and non-borders, even together would be OK with me. I haven't finished this honeymoon album completely and will add more photos without borders. The only problem I see with the borders is if you like the look of rounded corners (doesn't work as well!). I'm not typically a corner rounder in paper pages...but I completely understand that many people are. Best of luck with your album, I vote to start with what you've already got. :)
